Our resident literary scholar would like to express some thoughts…
“Cosmic elements collide in Hourglass Sea’s debut album, Return To The Crematorium. Contradicting its name, Return To The Crematorium is a frenzy of life. The album could serve as a soundtrack to the dawn of a new world, where furtive, radiant energies swirl and burst in the void. A scintillating fusion of fey 80s’ synth and modern hip-hop beats help evince this lively primordial atmosphere. Hourglass Sea’s debut tells a dance-pop version of creation and invites the listener to share in the boundless revelry of a youthful universe full of possibilities.
The flipside to all this excitement is hinted at by the album’s title. If the world of Return To The Crematorium is newly born, it was born from the ashes of an aged realm, and it is this ominous allusion to the phoenix myth that adds a layer of poignancy to the project. The occasional dark, arena-rock undertones suggest this world is emerging in the wake of some terrible chaoskampf or that galactic conquistadors will soon spoil this auditory Golden Age. Some sad fate awaits us, ready to end our merriment, but that only makes Return To The Crematorium more enjoyable. This stimulating blend of the mythic and the contemporary, the profound and the frolicsome, will delight all fans.”

Hourglass Sea’s Return To The Crematorium features 8 tracks of massive electronic beats constructed from clairvoyant 80s synth melody and arena-sized rock elements — an essential collection for your next galactic conquest.
